Emergency Voice Communication Overview
Emergency Voice Communication Systems (otherwise known as EVC or Disabled Refuge systems), have become increasingly popular in workplaces and public places where we spend our leisure time such as within high-rise apartment buildings, hotels, city centre buildings, theatres, sports grounds and can be used in any building to provide emergency assistance.
These systems are a worthwhile investment in any building and are governed by BS5839-9, they are also fire-rated, battery-backed and fully monitored for correct operation at all times similar to fire alarm and voice alarm setups, to make sure that they are suitable for use in an emergency. There are, of course, many other uses for robust systems such as these, and they can be adapted to suit a range of situations and needs.
Previous Installations
Our team has extensive knowledge in designing and installing a variety of Emergency Voice Communication Systems in many public buildings throughout the UK such as: sports grounds, theatres, high-rise city-centre office buildings, car parks, and many hotels. We have also provided more complex installations such as within multi-storey car parks and are used as reliable ‘get-help’ intercoms and within sports grounds as a failsafe steward’s phone system, more commonly known as Key Point Telephones to help and assist both staff and customers in an emergency situation.
During our installations, we have worked alongside our clients to ensure that the systems work correctly for them, and most importantly that their staff can use the equipment effectively. During our long history of installing systems, we have become aware that many of the older and beautiful grade-listed buildings have a complex and often confusing layout, therefore in an emergency, these buildings may become difficult to navigate.
